Alaska Air announced plans to begin flying routes to Costa Rica via their international travel hub at Los Angeles (LAX) Airport earlier this year, and tickets are on sale now.

Alaska Air plans to start its first flights to Costa Rica as of October 31st and November 1st in 2015. The airline will operate eight flights per week to Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in Alajuela pending approval from the Costa Rican civil aviation authority.

Alaska Air is offering one way flights for customers from Los Angeles, Seattle and Anchorage at reduced prices to launch the new flight plans to Costa Rica. One way flights from Los Angeles to San Jose (Alajuela really) and Liberia will run $249, and flights from Anchorage and Seattle will cost $369 and $299 respectively to either international airport in Costa Rica.

Boeing 737-700 and 800 aircraft will be used for making the flights from the U.S. to the two destinations in Costa Rica. On board the two different kinds of aircrafts, customers can take advantage of Alaska Beyond Entertainment, Alaska Beyond Comfort and Alaska Beyond Delicious. Alaska Beyond Entertainment syncs the planes onboard database with any customer’s personal device where they can choose from a surplus of TV shows, movies, music and games. Alaska Beyond Comfort brings 110v USB plug ins so that customers will be sure to have fully charged devices both in flight and when the plane lands. Alaska Beyond Delicious sources some of the best food and beverage choices coming from the Pacific Northwest for customers.

Along with the Alaska Beyond Entertainment and Alaska Beyond Comfort services, the airline will offer rental entertainment tablets to travelers for any of the aforementioned entertainment options that they might care to take advantage while flying to Costa Rica. The schedule for the flights beginning on October 31st and November 1st is as follows:

October 31st: San Jose-Los Angeles Departs @ 5:30 pm & Arrives @ 10:04 pm on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat
November 1st: Los Angeles-Liberia Departs @ 8:40 am & Arrives @ 4:25 pm on Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun
November 1st: Liberia-Los Angeles Departs @ 5:25 pm & Arrives @ 9:40 pm on Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun
