Costa Rica Weather for the perfect vacation!

Costa Rica is a tropical country, where you will find 2 different types of climates. You will find the dry season and the wet season. Both climates are what make Costa Rica such an amazing place, depending on what you are looking to do and what you really want to enjoy is when you have to decide of when to visit. Take into account that Costa Rica has benefits in both times of the year and you have to know what you want to see once you are here, and what you would like to experience since both seasons are very different but beneficial in its own ways.

Costa Rica has a variation of different areas, the pacific coast, the mountains, valleys and the Caribbean coast. All climates vary from time to time, but are similar in a certain way of being fresh and vivid. The pacific coast which takes part of the entire Guanacaste and Puntarenas area the driest and hottest areas, the mountains and valleys have the coldest and moistest climates, and the Caribbean is very unpredictable, but usually is the area that has the highest amount of rain year round.

In the dry season you can enjoy of getting the best tan, since the sun is very bright everyday with no rain. This is what they call summer time, you can enjoy of doing many activities and never get interrupted by the rain. Also this is the most vacationed time of the year, the highest season not only because of the weather, but the time of the year in which it arrives that’s between December and April.

For the rainy season which is between April and December, you will appreciate how the change in the mountains turn from a bright yellow of dryness to a vivid green and colorful flowers. You can appreciate wildlife closer since it comes out and wildlife enjoys the taste they can acquire from nature at this time of the year. This is usually the lowest season since many tourist are afraid of getting rain at all moments, but the rainy season may be very different in Costa Rica, usually it rains only during the afternoons. It’s very hard for an activity to be cancelled in this season as you would think that if it rains everything gets cancelled, but usually they are cancelled only if there is lots of lightning or if it can someway be dangerous for the activity you will be doing, but since Costa Rica is very much used to the rain, all the activities are normally designed to be done with or without rain.

As mentioned before, Costa Rica is a tropical country, there are 12 hours of sunlight. Usually the sun rises at 5:30 am and sun sets at 5:30 pm, this can change by a couple of minutes daily. The hottest hours are between 12 pm and 2 pm which is the time of the day that is not really recommendable to expose yourself to the sun for too long since it can really harm your skin since you are exposed to direct UV rays. Applying sunblock often will benefit your health and re applying after an hour or so makes it better. If you get burnt really bad look for aloe that will refresh your skin from the sun burn.

Sunsets are much more appreciated during the dry season, since on the rainy season it tends to rain in the afternoons which darkens the day much earlier than usual and sunsets are missed by the dark clouds, but exceptions happen on the rainy season and you get to experience the best sunsets ever on the beach or in the mountains.
