The west coast of Costa Rica is populated by resort towns and little surf oases. Playa Bejuco, Costa Rica, clearly falls into the latter category.

From the inland road at Pueblo Nuevo, Costa Rica, make your way west to Playa Bejuco and be satisfied. The surf in Bejuco is best as the tide rises, but it isn’t altogether close to the shore. The small community of Bejuco, Costa Rica, maintains a few small restaurants along the beach, and one main hotel of Hotel Playa Bejuco. It may be easier to find accommodations in the nearby Playa Samara which caters to a larger tourist population. For your trip to Playa Bejuco you should bring a swimsuit, sun screen, a surfboard, a Frisbee, a camera, a water bottle and a good book to relax in the sun with. Playa Bejuco could be your own private beach if you happen to come on the right day, so you could potentially bring any number of pleasantries with you for your time here.

To the north of Bejuco is Playa Islita, Playa Camaronal and Playa Samara. To the south is Playa Javilla and Playa Coyote. The Nicoya Peninsula and Playa Bejuco are easily reachable in a number of ways. The Naviera Ferry runs to the city of Tambor from Paquero and Puntarenas in the province of Puntarenas, and the domestic airlines of Nature Air and Sansa Air also fly to Tambor, Punta Islita and Carrillo, Costa Rica.

From the capital city of San Jose, Bejuco is five hours and twenty six minutes away. Bejuco is three hours and forty four minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alajuela, Costa Rica, and two hours and sixteen minutes from Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.
