In this video, Michelle Jones takes us to the Mall Paseo de las Flores in Heredia, Costa Rica, to see a little bit about what the sprawling shopping center has to offer patrons.

Paseo de las Flores is a two story shopping mall that covers 90,368.88 square meters, and is where you will find stores, services, restaurants and a food court. Paseo de las Flores is now celebrating its tenth year since opening, and is undergoing a modern redecoration and remodel. There are several entertainment options at Mall Paseo de las Flores in Heredia, Costa Rica, including a movie theater and a laser tag facility.

The theater houses five separate screening rooms, and plays films that include the most recent Hollywood releases and some films from Latin America. At Mall Paseo de la Flores there are a number of outdoor coffee restaurants where you can catch the beauty of Costa Rican sunsets. Inside the mall, a lot of thought has been put into the design of its open spaces.

Michelle discussed some of the malls fine points and activities with the General Manager of Paseo de las Flores, and a transcript of that conversation is as follows:

Michelle Hello Gerald.

Gerald How are you doing?

M Very well, thank you.

G Welcome to our mall, truly.

M Thank you very much for inviting us. Sir Gerald, I have a question. Why is there a castle turret at the entrance of the mall?

G Well, the turret is an emblem of Heredia, and it’s recognized as a national emblem. This emblem is something that Heredian people are very proud of, and it is a national heritage. At the moment that the mall’s construction was conceived we believed that the turret could be an icon connecting the building with the people of Heredia. That grand architectural work is now the prinicipal entrance, and it is shared with all Heredians and people that visit the mall every day.

M Very nice! What activities and events are held here apart from shopping or the cinema?

G Like you said, in the mall there is more than shopping, but it is also a place to have fun and entertainment.

M This mall is so beautiful and so big! How many stores are there?

G Well…actually, we have 325 stores in different categories that go from entertainment to shoe stores to services and more. Everything you can find in the city you can find here.
