Pedregal Events Center to Host Artisanal Beer Festival

On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, the Pedregal Events Center in Heredia, Costa Rica will host Festival Cerveza Artesanal with more than thirty craft beer companies presenting.

Of the thirty one artisanal beer companies hailing from various parts of Costa Rica, you will find Imperial Pale Ales, Stouts, Fruit Beers, Red Ales, Belgian Ales and so much more. You have permission to drool. A list of the companies that will be presenting their brews at the festival consists of CRBF Fabrica de Cerveza Artesanal, Escalante Cerveza Artesanal, Cervezas Artesanales Belmar, WiLK Craft Beer & Grub, La CoFradia Brewing Co., Hoppy Ideas, treintaycinco, 101, La Selva, Tierra Fertil, Arboleda, Costa Rica’s Craft Brewing Company, Beéche BCA, Fercas Brew House, El Gafe, Sliefel, La Bruja, Cerveceria Artesanal Buenos Aires, Meadery, Volcano Brewing Co., La Familia, Perrovida Cerveza Artesanal, Calle Cimarrona, Media Calle, El Búho, Cerveceria Rancho Humo, Tico Birra, Craft Brewers Association of Costa Rica, Corbata, La Perra Hermosa Coastal Brewery, Niño Huracán and the Costa Rica Beer Factory.

Beer isn’t the only thing to be found at Festival Cerveza Artesanal with food stands from Costa Rica Beer Factory, EL GAFF, Berlin-Berlin, IL Posto Pizza and Embutidos Tom Tom. There will also be various activities taking place, and the broadcast of Champions League games will be shown on a number of televisions and projectors throughout the events center, so you won’t have to race home to see the finals between the national team (La Tricolor) and Colombia. Some of the other activities that you’ll find at the beer festival in Pedregal include talks about the best brewing practices by Andres Araya of Chicago Brewing Co. 5 Conejo, and a lecture on brewery and management applications by Napoleon Bonyouchoa Chu of Guadalajara University.

Tickets are on sale now through the website, or you can buy them at the door. Each ticket is ¢12,000 or about $22. There will also be a beard and mustache competition which you can register for at the beard and mustaches of Costa Rica tent, and the competition takes place at 4:30. The beer, food, beards, lectures and finals should certainly be enticement enough. Stay thirsty friends!
