Ultra-light Flights in Costa Rica
Gyro copter tours of the Pacific coast are truly a one of kind look at the coast line, the ocean and the inland topography that you will positively rave about if not come back for more.
Where to Go?
Up and down the Pacific Coast you can find Ultra-light tours like in Playa Samara and Playa Uvita. If you go to the trip advisor section which is dedicated to these tours, you will find rave reviews of these trips. There are a few companies, and many of the hotels in the area will be able to at least point you in the right direction for taking one of these tours.
What to Bring?
There is little that you will need to bring in terms of protective gear, because the flight tour company should outfit you with safety glasses and anything else that you might need. You may, however, still want to bring some sunscreen and sunglasses that can be strapped to your head. A GoPro camera with a head mount might be a good way to record your trip, but you should be able to snap pictures from a high definition camera, as well.
Extra Information!
Tours around Playa Samara will run $110 for twenty minutes, $150 for thirty minutes and $230 for an hour, and there are few different kinds of tours in Playa Uvita, as well. The special flight tour is one hour at $235, and showcases the Marino Ballena National Park where you might get a glimpse of migrating whales depending on the time of the year. There is also a shorter introductory trip at around 20 minutes for beginner flyers that runs $110.
At Playa Uvita, the Ultra-light flight company is Fly Adventure CR, and at Playa Samara the company is named Ultralight Tours and can be booked through the hotel Villas Playa Samara.
