Acocording to the last census in 2011, there are 4.3 million Costa Ricans. Out of all these people, 94% are a mixture of Spanish and indigenous populations, 3% is of African descent (found mostly on the Caribbean side), 1% is Chinese, 1% is indigenous and the last 1% is unknown.
