Is there a weight limit or age limit for Costa Rica Adventure Tours?
The limit depends on the requirements for the activity.
ATV Tours
You must have a driver’s license to drive an ATV, and the minimum age for that is 16.
Canopy/Zip Line Tours
The minimum age is 7, and the cables can withstand up to 300 pounds, with an arnes waist limitation of 58 inches. The only thing that could possibly prevent you from doing this tour is if your body cannot safely be secured in the harness. If your thighs measure more than 31 inches in circumference or your waist exceeds 45 inches around, then your guide will likely not let you on the tour. In that case of course, your money will be refunded for the tour and instead we can help you choose another adventure.
Horseback Riding Tours
Usually our guides can find a horse to fit every person, but in a country where horses are typically small, there tends to be a limit to the acceptable weight of the rider, both for the rider’s safety and the horse’s. If you weigh more than 300 pounds, this tour is not for you. When you make a reservation for the horseback riding tour it’s important to let us know your weight and level of experience, so that the guide can arrange a proper horse for your particular needs. That said, when you arrive to the tour the guides will always double-check and if they deem necessary they might cancel your participation in order to protect your safety. In this case of course, your money will be refunded for the activity and we’ll help you find a different adventure for you to enjoy.
