    A: This deal does not include airfare, but we recommend you check www.Expedia.com for airfare information!
  • Q: Is transportation provided from the last hotel to LIR?

    A: Yes, the transportation is included on the day the tour ends only. We have different times scheduled depending on departure flights.
  • Q: What airport should I fly into?

    A: You should fly into LIR (Daniel Oduber Airport). The tour starts out of Liberia. In case you can’t to fly into LIR you can fly into SJO (Juan Santamaria Airport) but in this case you would have to cover transportation to Liberia, which is not included. Private transportation from San Jose to Liberia costs $200 USD per way.
  • Q: What are the requirements for US citizens to visit Costa Rica?

    A: Costa Rica doesn’t require a visa to enter the country, if you have a US passport then you should have no problem. Just make sure your passport won’t expire in the next 6 months, if it does you would have to renew It prior to the trip. We also recommend you to contact the Costa Rican embassy in your state to confirm any migratory questions.
  • Q: What are the charges to travel to your country?

    A: There is a departure tax of $28 USD. You can spend the remaining colones on the payment of these taxes which is approx. 14,000 colones.
  • Q: What is the currency and the exchange rate?

    A: The currency is Costa Rican Colones (CRC), the exchange rate is very close to 500 colones = $1. This may vary from time to time since it changes daily.
  • Q: How much distance do we travel?

    A: All hotels and tours are located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Between locations you will travel a total of 500 kilometers or about 350 miles.
  • Q: Are all tours suitable for children?

    A: Yes, this is a suitable tour for children. For some activities children must be 8 years old, or 1.30 cm tall at minimum.
  • Q: Is there a weight limit for the activities?

    A: Unfortunately, for safety reasons, yes. The weight limit is 350 pounds for many of the activities.
  • Q: Can I add an extra person in our room?

    A: Absolutely! The additional cost per person over 12 years old is $799 USD + tax, if younger than 12 years old it is $499 USD + tax. There is a maximum of 4 per room.
  • Q: Can we arrive a day earlier or stay more nights?

    A: Yes, we can reserve the extra nights for you. In case of extending your stay, extra charges may apply on your return shuttle. Ask us about the special prices we can provide on the extra nights.
  • Q: What if I need to leave a day earlier?

    A: You can leave at any time during the tour, however, since this is a package no reimbursement or discount can take place. You may also have to cover transportation back to the airport.
  • Q: Upon arrival how does it work?

    A: Upon Arrival at the airport terminal look for the Hilton Garden Inn shuttle service that runs every 15 minutes, they will take you to the Hotel for your first night stay. The following day the Monkey Tours staff will be waiting for you in the Lobby or restaurant area at 7:00 am for a greeting and breakfast, after that you will depart on your expedition.
  • Q: Which destinations will I be visiting?

    A: During this trip you will be visiting inside of the province of Guanacaste the following: Liberia, Rincon de la Vieja, Palo Verde, Guaitil, Nicoya, Monteverde, Santa Elena and Playa Samara.
  • Q: What kind of rooms do we receive with this package?

    A: This deal includes standard deluxe room accommodation in each location you’ll be visiting. You can upgrade at the last location you will be staying at, Villas Playa Samara to a one bedroom villa for $35 USD + tax per night or you can upgrade to an Ocean View villa for just $50 USD + tax per night for all 4 nights. In this location you can also upgrade to an all-inclusive package for just $49 USD + tax per person, per night.
  • Q: What should I budget for meals?

    A: This may vary a lot, depending on the location and person. Meals shouldn’t cost more than what you pay for a normal dining restaurant in the USA or Canada. We recommend you budget $25-$35 USD per person per day for extra meals. This may change depending on the location you are at and what type of food you would like to eat.
  • Q: What are the tour activities included on this deal?

    A: Canopy Canyoning, horseback riding, tubing, rappel, waterfalls, Sky walk, Sky tram, River boat Safari, Kayak tour to Chora Island.
  • Q: Will we have access to WI-FI?

    During the activities you might lack WI-FI connection, but all the hotels you will be visiting offer you free Internet access in their lobby areas. Some of them have access in the rooms as well.
  • Q: What type of clothing should we bring?

    A: We recommend you bring summer time clothes. You may want to bring a rain jacket for your visit in the tropical cloud forest of Monteverde. Make sure you bring water shoes for tubing and strapped sandals or hiking shoes for zip line and horseback riding. You should also bring sunblock, insect repellent, a hat, sunglasses, a camera and binoculars if you want to get a closer look at nature.
  • Q: What is the weather like in Costa Rica:

    Costa Rica has 2 seasons, dry season and green season. From January – July is the dry season where we have lots of sunshine, and beautiful sunsets. July-December is green (rainy) season, but rain doesn’t really affect us since everything becomes beautifully green and it only rains during the afternoons. It’s nearly always sunny in the mornings. The temperature of the areas you will be visiting is always between 25-35 degrees Celsius or 75-95 Fahrenheit. Just so you can have an idea, it’s always summer time in Costa Rica.

    A: It includes a 8 day adventure itinerary to cover both mountain and beach experience on both Costa Rica and Nicaragua. While touring Costa Rica, you will visit the Arenal volcano, one of the most remarkable natural wonders of Costa Rica.     A: Hotels and tours are located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica and Granada department in Nicaragua. Between locations you will travel a total of 895 kilometers aprox or about 556 miles.
  • Q: Are all tours suitable for children?

    A: Yes, this is a suitable tour for children. For some activities children must be 8 years old, or 1.30 cm tall at minimum.

    A: This tour is suited for anyone over 7 years old.

    A: The weight limit is 350 pounds.
  • Q: Can I add an extra person in our room?

    A: Yes you can. 12 years old and up the cost will $849 plus tax for a total of $959.37. 12 years old and younger the cost will be $549 plus tax for a total of $620.37 Up to two additional persons per room maximum.

    A: Yes, we can reserve the extra nights for you. In case of extending your stay, extra charges may apply on your return shuttle. Ask us about the special prices we can provide on the extra nights.
