Of all the incredible attractions available on your new adventure, few are as exciting as Costa Rica’s famous hot springs. Because of all of the volcanic activity all around the country, hot springs are prevalent in Costa Rica and are quite the attraction to behold! A hot spring is any body of water that is heated naturally by the heat of the earth’s core. To be more specific, it is in fact heated by the earth’s mantle, as the rocks act as conductors of heat, and thus transfers to the surrounding water.
To be considered a hot spring, the water needs only to be warmer than that of the normal body temperature of a human. Some are known to be so heated that they actually reach the point of boiling water! This is truly a sight to be seen; nature’s own natural “hot tubs”, created entirely by Mother Nature herself. The majority of the hot springs are just above human temperature, and it is very much like a Jacuzzi which tourists are more than welcome to lie in comfortably, and relax in the natural heat exuded by the earth.
Many tourists call this the most relaxing part of their trip, a great way to relax after the adrenaline rush of for example taking a zip line tour through the beautiful rainforests of Costa Rica. Imagine a long beautiful hike near a still active volcano, discovering the beautiful sights and vivid scenery and doing multiple adventures throughout
