6. Climbing Cerro Chirripó
The highest peak in Costa Rica doesn’t require the same kind of gear and experience required to go up Mt. Everest, but that doesn’t mean that it will be a walk in the park either. Many people spend around two to three nights hiking up and down Cerro Chirripó, and they often spend the night in the observation lodge that is a little ways off from the summit. It could be done in a day, but the reason for most hikers opting to do it over a two or three nights is to catch the sun rise, and feasibly the sunset, from the top of Costa Rica.
