5. Tortuguero National Park
Tortuguero is littered with canals that sneak up and down swamps and marshes, and contain marine bird species that are particular to the area. This is the perfect place to spot to view Purple Trogons, Montezuma Golden Orioles, Peacocks, Toucans and the endangered Green Macaw. Tortuguero is very important for Green Macaws, because it is one of the last safe havens for their host tree: the Almendro (a species of Almond Tree).
