ATV Tours in Costa Rica
ATV tours are everywhere in Costa Rica. Well, maybe not everywhere, but in many places to be certain. There are beach tours, volcano tours and forest tours via ATV.
Where to Go
There are so many ATV rental and tour locations on the coasts and inland that you won’t be at a lack of opportunities to get on one of these bad boy and ride. Some are guided tours, and others are simple rental facilities where you can take one out for the day. Places that you might look for a tour or rental shop include Jaco, Arenal, Playa Nosara, Manuel Antonio, Tamarindo and Mal Pais to name a few.
What to Bring
The safety equipment and the vehicle will be provided by the tour company or rental shop. What you will need to bring includes closed toed shoes to protect your feet, a change of clothes, a hat and sunscreen. Depending on where you are going with your ATV, you may want to bring insect repellant.
A GoPro camera with a chest harness might be a good way to record your adventure along the sandy seashore or through the jungle trails. Aside from a GoPro, you may want to bring a camera that you can shoot pics of you and your friends with as you climb a steeply inclined hill or spray seawater from you tread.
Extra Information
Tours are led from the early morning through to the afternoon and some of the times consist of 6:45 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The rental times will vary, but most of the shops will want you to return the vehicles before sundown. Tours, on the other hand, may last for 2 or 3 hours at a time, and are often led by bilingual guides who will impart interesting information about the natural surroundings and places you visit along the way.
